Our future home!

The Board of Directors is excited to announce that we are currently pursuing the building at 2302 Western Trails (within a couple of blocks of Central Market south) for the future home of Tapestry Dance Company and Academy.

In-kind needs

Tapestry Dance Company and Academy is in need of volunteers who can help with in-kind needs at the new facility. If you work in an industry such as plumbing, electrical, computer, construction, and can help out in the next several months at the new facility, please contact Tapestry Board President, Judy Witkin at j.witkin@sbcglob al.net.

Soul to Sole Festival Report

The 6th annual Soul to Sole Festival was a great success!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the festival, as a patron and/or as a volunteer. The success of this event is due in large part to all of those in the Tapestry Community who help in so many ways. This was the first year for the Silent Auction at the Soul to Sole Concert on Saturday evening. Kudos to Libbi Sampleton, Auction Chair, and all her volunteers for helping to raise almost $4,000 for the future home of Tapestry Dance Company and Academy!

Tapestry Dance Company is a professional, non-profit dance organization founded in 1989 by rhythm tap dancer Acia Gray and ballet/jazz artist Deirdre Strand for the purpose of developing a foundation in multi-form dance performance and education. Initially a performing company of three, the organization has expanded to a professional company of seven resident artists, a diversified administrative and production support staff and a pre-professional and adult training facility sharing the unique Strand/Gray training syllabus.
