The premiere of The Souls of Our Feet 2008 / More Celebrations of American Tap Dance To standing ovations, Tapestry Dance Company (Austin's own award winning professional dance company) is delivering flying feet from the past to present as part of the National Endowment for the Arts: American Masterpieces Touring Roster. The Souls of Our Feet (voted BEST DANCE CONCERT by the Austin Critics Table Awards - 2007) is making a mark across the country bringing American tap dance to numerous U.S. cities this season! With generous grants from the National Endowment for the Arts: American Masterpieces (through the New England Foundation of the Arts) and a $40,000 gift from The Hegardt Foundation, Tapestry premiered the second installment of this fast-paced collection of footwork adding more of the best of tap dance masterpieces from Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers to the contemporary master work of Brenda Bufalino & The American Tap Dance Orchestra! Joined by TDC Artistic Director Acia Gray, Broadway's Dianne Walker and the swingin' Eddie Hobizal Jazz Trio as The Souls of Our Feet has welcomed the legendary Arthur Duncan of The Lawrence Welk Show as the tour's newest addition!
